Dubai: Dh249 for six cubes? World purest ice chills drinks in UAE
The world’s ‘purest ice’ created from a Greenland glacier traveled 20,000km before being served in Dubai drinks. The ice which originated from ancient Greenland glaciers that date back over 100,000 years will become available to private buyers at Dh249 for six cubes.
The Natural Ice factory in Al Quoz processes and produces ice taken from a 22-ton crystal-clear block that broke away from a glacier. Ahmad al Mazrooei co-owner of the factory says the demand for glistening ice cubes has remained high since their block reached Dubai shores in January of last year.
Top business leaders and wealthy individuals have shown interest in the product as he mentioned.
The Arctic Ice cubes come in a triangular box that showcases sky-like colors. Arctic Ice's international relations chairman Samir Ben Tabib dedicated almost a year to perfecting the ice cubes.

Dubai restaurant Nahaté plans to include Arctic Ice cubes in their special cocktail series. Nahaté will offer ultra-luxurious cocktails as part of their new menu with prices ranging from Dh300 to Dh700 unlike the current drinks which are priced between Dh100 and Dh200.

The DIFC restaurant offers a Baccarat Chef’s table which accommodates 10 guests for a private party at a cost of Dh35,000.
A unique Jacob & Co. private lounge sets this restaurant apart as its first partnership with the well-known American watch brand. The lounge holds 40 seats and expands into a standing room for 100 people at an off-peak booking cost of Dh150,000.
Premium drinks
The restaurant's beverage and marketing director, Andrey Bolshakov received the responsibility to create the exclusive cocktail menu with glacier ice cubes. Baccarat served as the inspiration for four of his cocktails while six others celebrate Jacob & Co. watches. The cocktail Astronomia takes its name from a watch and requires serving in a blue Baccarat glass priced above Dh1,000.
Andrey found his work with the ice cubes to be "special."
His global cocktail career led him to discover his love for Arctic Ice cubes because of their pure and untouched nature. The majority of cocktails which are served with ice depend on ice quality for their drink experience. The sound of these pieces melting will be audible to our guests in their glasses.
The concept of glacier ice cubes so impressed him that he transported two large boxes to Monaco where he served them in upscale cocktails during the F1 Grand Prix in May of last year. Andrey laughed while recalling the thorough questioning he received about transporting ice between Dubai and Monaco. During the drinks service I explained to my customers that the ice used in their beverages was over 100,000 years old. It was mind-blowing. Understanding something increases your enjoyment of it.
The company claims that their ice cubes have virtually no taste which allows them to melt without changing the flavor of beverages. The company asserts that the structure enables the ice to remain solid for extended periods when placed in drinks.
The feedback received from all who tried the drinks has proven to be very encouraging according to Samir. “They have all loved it,” he said. The feedback exceeded my expectations in terms of positive responses.
How the ice came to be
The idea of shipping ice blocks from Greenland formed when Samir discovered the accidental inspiration from a boat collision with a glacier. He explained that their boat collided with a block of ice.
The glacier's exceptional purity prevented them from noticing it. The thought occurred to me that maybe it would be beneficial to take some of the ice chunks separated from the large glacier. The plan would increase local water safety while creating a successful business opportunity.
