Connecting with an agent before landing in UAE, she anticipated an easy journey. Yet, his initial three months there were filled with letdowns. Jobless Solomon, was residing in a shared space in Sharjah and often traveling to Dubai for talks. "In spite of trying, I couldn’t nail a job. A new beginning

Never one to concede, Solomon stayed persistent with job interviews while maintaining contact with buddies who assisted him in remaining vigilant for job vacancies. This steadfastness bore fruit when Freedom Pizza, a local eatery situated in Dubai Marina, employed her as a waitress. This came with a monthly remuneration of Dh2,500. Though not aligning perfectly with her dream job, it was a stepping stone nonetheless.

At the eatery, she saw that delivery folks were making more cash than she did. This insight guided her down an unexpected route. "I picked up biking skills in Dubai," she expressed. Her company's support pushed Solomon to sign up for driving lessons. "They offered me the needed NOC to finish my class. I aced the driving exam in one go, like a fresh world sprung up for me," Solomon recounted.

Moving from a server to a courier, she spent two years zipping through Dubai's bustling streets. Despite the daily pizza deliveries, her dreams aimed far beyond her current role.

A leap into tourism

Solomon's adventure took a twist when she began posting about her Dubai experience on social media. She shared images of herself at the city's famous spots, and it made waves in Nigeria. "I started receiving messages from people wanting me to guide them around," Solomon recalled. One incident transformed her life. After guiding a person around Dubai, she received over Dh1,000, a pleasant shock. "I saw a chance there," Solomon noted and started planning tours for her African and Nigerian friends, showing them the city's highlights.

"They were interested in investing, I was their eyes on the ground," Solomon noted. It was then she realized that she'd unwittingly stepped into the role of a real estate agent.

Spotting the perfect chance, she used her clients' confidence in her to understand the property market. "I offered to locate properties for my clients, and they believed in me," Solomon revealed. Buoyed by their trust, she started her own venture, Giffy Real Estate, in April 2024.
Within a short time, she concluded multiple transactions. "I managed to sell seven units in just 42 hours. That's one of my largest successes," Solomon declared.

Building a multi-million-dollar empire

She started off solo, right back in 2023, selling houses left and right as a self-employed realtor. Fast-forward to today, and she's the boss of an empire valued at over Dh15 million. "Every month, our business clocks in millions of dirhams," Solomon confidently states. Her client base was primarily Africa, especially Nigeria, to begin with. Yet, it grew. "Now, I've got their attention. Investors from all over Africa, the US, and India. And guess what? We're aiming for Europe and Russia next," Solomon revealed.

Solomon's clan, from her birthplace, is her shield in life's battleground. "Their pride in my path is palpable," she shares, reminiscing her long voyage since setting foot in UAE.

Solomon eyes the future with spirit to grow her enterprise further. "We're laying foundations, barely starting out, aiming higher in Dubai's challenging property market," she affirms.
