Dubai Crown Prince praises Hamdan Scholarship students
His Highness: Dubai’s tomorrow is today in that it is cultivating and developing great talent

As a component of the Dubai Social Agenda 33 which has an endowment of AED 1.1 billion has been developed, target is 100 scholarships every year – more of these opportunities will be offered to Emiratis who are enrolled in the internationally recognized universities
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the United Arab Emirates, and the Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, welcomed the first batch of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Scholarship Programme scholars who were selected during its first academic year. His Highness asserted that the programme has been designed according to the concept of investing into people for the purpose of delivering effective and lasting development and is in line with the aspirations of Miya Ki Dubai Social Agenda 33.
At a customary orientation session held today at Mandarin oriental hotel Dubai for the selected Emirati students under the scholarship, Hamdan congratulated them for the award. A cohort of exceptionally talented students will begin their educational pursuit in prestigious international universities through the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Scholarship Program.
This is a program that is being excellently monitored by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Thus, it is possible and even necessary for Dubai’s power structure to be able to shape its very future by fostering and investing in great talent encouraged by students’ ambition and dedication.”
"After meeting the erudites and the 2023-24 cohort of Emirati Top Achievers, I believe that the future of our emirate is in safe hands." His Highness commented. "A World with Opportunity for Innovation has defined the dreams and aspirations of our scholars, and I have full confidence that they shall be of great assistance to Dubai in netting further achievements. Through this scholarship programme we are preparing the new generation of leaders who will help in the overall development of our city and we will make sure that every child is given all the guidance they need to be successful at each stage.”
The guests included His Excellency Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Director-General of the HH The Dubai Ruler Court; His Excellency Abdullah Mohammed Al Basti, Secretary General, The Executive Council Of Dubai; His Excellency Abdullah Ali Bin Zayed Al Falasi, Director General, Dubai government HR department and Her Excellency Aisha Miran, Director General Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).
Top Achievers programme
The event also acknowledged 40 top-performing graduates from high schools of various types of education- both public and private-, within the framework of the Top Achievers programme. It also acknowledged the graduating batch of Ruler’s Court Higher Education Scholarship for the year 2024 who are awarded to the exceptional bundle of qualified high school graduates in the UAE covering different fields of studies.
Sheikh Hamdan stated: “My warmest congratulations go to all the top graduates from both public and private schools and their parents. Also, I believe that they will be able to go on with the same trend of success and achievement and will help improve the well-being of both themselves and their country.”
As for the students, His Highness remarked: “As you gain knowledge in various subjects offered to you in schools and later in universities, please remember that such knowledge is to be used only for the betterment of our society and the world.”
His Highness further met parents of the students at the event and commended them for doing their best to bring up a generation of determined young Emiratis who can compete with the best in the world and change the course of the United Arab Emirates. He stressed that building and nurturing of the Emirati talents is an important element of Dubai strategy for raising the human capital of the emirate in which global centers of education would be able to support the local talent in accordance with the strategic economic goals of Dubai.
