Train services were interrupted at Dubai International Airport (DXB) last Thursday.

“Dubai Airports is currently managing guest movement between Terminal 1 and Concourse D using a bus service due to a temporary disruption to the airport train,” DXB said.

"Our maintenance team is working to resolve the problem as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconveniences caused and thank our guests for their patience and understanding,” the DXB said.

DXB did not elaborate on the cause of the disruptions to the airport train. The DXB automated people mover is a driverless train system that runs in two sections within Terminal 3 and Concourse A & B and also between Terminal 1 and Concourse D.

DXB is one of the world’s most connected airports, served by 106 international airlines, covering 272 destinations in 107 countries.

The airport is expected to have received 92.3 million passengers in 2024, which would surpass the previous record set in 2018 by 89.1 million.

“DXB and Dubai both crossing the 92 million mark does is one more stunning landmark achievement for us. As always this shows the amazing resolve, teamwork, and devotion of the DXB community – our people, partners, and everyone else – collaborating to make sure that the experiences created for the guests are nothing less than world class and unforgettable,” quoted Griffiths from the DXB annual results.

Once again Dubai International (DXB) is defending its title as the biggest airport in the world for international passengers after the ACI released data for the 11th consecutive year this month.

Earlier this month Airports Council International (ACI) data marked an unprecedented DXB milestone again as the world’s busiest airport for international passengers.

“Of course achievements like these are extraordinary however my attention is still on what the future holds for us ye we are not ignoring what is needed in the present. Exists a need for static development in Dubai World Central - Al Maktoum International – the answer is yes and that construction has already started happening and can enable us to rethink airport design and reinvent the entire travel experience,” Other P. Griffiths added.
