Dubai Airport's new AI corridor allows passengers to clear immigration without stops

Dubai Airport (DXB) has introduced a revolutionary AI corridor that lets a group of passengers clear immigration in just a couple of heartbeats.

This corridor can handle up to ten people at once, and, impressively, travellers don’t need to show a passport, a boarding pass, or any ID—all tech-driven recognition happens in the background.

According to Lieutenant General Mohamed Ahmed Al Marri, the automation kicks in before a passenger even approaches the checkpoint, securely reading stored info and confirming traveller identities invisibly.

With ten lanes working simultaneously, the new corridor nearly doubles DXB’s processing power during peak busy periods. AI layers also flag anomalies: any passport that seems off a routine algorithm gets a politely timed escort to document specialists, making the operation both fast and smart, Al Marri continued.
GDRFA touts the corridor as a first anywhere, marketing it as a piece of the agency’s grand scheme to turn every traveller’s journey into “limitless wandering.”

This leap happens just as ACI World named DXB the busiest international airport of 2024 for the tenth straight year, a real milestone that builds on the AI corridor and other innovations at the terminal.

Travellers' impressions

Numerous travelers making their way down the new corridor shared warm feedback about the speedy immigration process.

“Our family trip was wonderfully smooth—everything moved faster because we didn’t have to queue at the passport desk,” recalled Syrian citizen Mohammed Amer. “The whole journey was finished in minutes. Truly a record time.”

Canadians Mahmoud Balou added that Dubai continues to impress by leveraging cutting-edge technology. “The innovations eliminate delays and crowding,” he noted. “Every detail seems designed to make terminal time a pleasure.”
