Dubai airport city to create thousands of jobs as new passenger terminal takes shape
Top officials from Dubai South developers expect population growth in the emirate's new district over the next two to three years as construction progresses on the new airport terminal. The residential district of the master development currently serves 25,000 residents but will accommodate more than one million people expected to relocate to the area when the airport opens.
The Dh128-billion passenger facility at Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International Airport will completely take over Dubai airport's operations within ten years. Dubai is developing an aerotropolis which functions as an airport city to meet demand needs. Dubai South stands within the top five most sought-after areas for new development projects throughout the emirate.
The unveiling of the new passenger terminal at Al Maktoum International Airport last year intensified property demand in Dubai South according to Nabil Al Kindi CEO of Dubai South Properties. The emergence of new job opportunities in Dubai South will drive property demand up in this area. This momentum should continue and early investors stand to gain the greatest benefits.
Dubai's largest master development spans 145 sq km and targets aviation and logistics sectors while integrating mixed-use and residential areas. The Dubai South ecosystem promises up to 500,000 jobs while providing multi-modal transport infrastructure that connects air, land, and sea according to its website.
Al Kindi anticipates that upon the new airport becoming fully operational the development will become a “key hub” for future growth and development. The opening of the airport will deliver substantial employment gains in Dubai South and serve as a growth trigger for new properties, office spaces, retail outlets, hospitals and additional social infrastructure facilities.

Since the company began operations it has successfully launched several projects which attracted remarkable attention and sold out completely. The company has launched projects such as The Pulse Apartments, The Pulse Villas, The Pulse Beachfront, South Bay, South Living, and Sakany according to Al Kindi.
The Pulse Beachfront recently finished Phase 1 which features 288 residential units. The development team plans to complete delivery of 500 more units from different phases of The Pulse Beachfront project before the second half of 2025 begins.
The entire South Living project has been purchased and construction work has started. BT Properties Asia's premier private property developer signed an agreement to develop a gated master community in Dubai South's Golf District.
