Al Wasl aims high as UAE Pro League season starts

Al Wasl started the 2024-2025 UAE Pro League season with an unprecedented challenge. After winning their initial league title in the modern era and their eighth league championship in total last season, the team is now striving to mirror the impressive accomplishment of Al Ain.

The upcoming Friday marks the beginning of the new season, carrying the burden of high expectations.

Al Wasl is committed to equaling the achievement of Al Ain, who secured consecutive titles in the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 seasons.

Achieving victory in this campaign would result in another championship being added to their record, elevating them to the same esteemed level as their competitors.

Al Wasl achieved a magnificent double last season by claiming the league championship following their dominant 4-0 victory against Al Nasr in the President's Cup final at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain.

Al Wasl started the new season by playing an away match against Kalba on Friday, then had a home game against Dibba Al Hisn at Zabeel Stadium on August 29.

Abu Dhabi's top team, Al Wahda, will play against Ajman, while Al Orooba will take on Al Nasr from Dubai in the first two games of the season, scheduled for Friday at 6 pm.

Bani Yas will battle against Al Jazira on Saturday, Shabab Al Ahli will go up against Al Bataeh, Al Ain will compete against Khor Fakkan, and Dibba Al-Hisn will face off against Sharjah.

The UAE Pro League has now started selling tickets for the upcoming season.

Supporters have the option to buy tickets digitally on the UAE Pro League’s website and the "Platinum List" platform, maintaining a convenient and user-friendly process for accessing matchday events.

In its ongoing effort to make football inclusive to everyone, the UAE Pro League is still welcoming women, the elderly, and children by providing free tickets at the ticket office in all stadiums during match days.
