Abu Dhabi Police honour resident for desert motorcycle rescue
In government, people who do the right thing are often applauded in the UAE.
AD Police recognized an Arab man for quickly helping after a motorcycle crash.
The man led police patrols, traffic and response teams, ambulance staff and investigation officers to the scene of the accident in record time by leading them through sandy paths that he knew like a bald patch at the top of his skull.
He contributed significantly to field operations and successfully expedited relief work.
The work of Mr Al Ajel was formally recognised by the General Command of Abu Dhabi Police, and Brig Hamdan Saif Al Mansoori, director general of the Al Dhafra Region police department, presented him with a gift in recognition of an initiative that was reflective of societal responsibility and partnership.
This acknowledgment is part of a broader culture of honesty in the UAE.
An Asian expat in Abu Dhabi was also rewarded for his honesty after he handed over a large amount of money he found to authorities, who in turn offered him a gift as recognition for how commendably honest he is.
The man submitted the undisclosed sum to the Capital Police Directorate, Khalidiya Police Station.
Last month, Ajman Police also honoured a young girl for her honesty when she handed in cash she found lying around in public, reinforcing the UAE’s dedication to celebrating good morals and positive citizenry.
