Abu Dhabi food center provides jobs for people of determination
The Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO) has inaugurated a new food packaging factory where a handful of people of determination will be employed in permanent jobs and trained in their professional careers.
The new Al Bahia centre with Fresh on Table will pick up, pack, store and distribute fruits, vegetables, dairy, poultry, fish, honey and animals products.
The ZHO Secretary-General Abdullah Abdul Ali Al Humaidan said the partnership with Fresh on Table helps to promote the Foundation’s organic food and boosts the career prospects of people of determination.
‘The packaging centre will be a prime location to enhance the professional skills of staff through specific rehabilitation programmes,’ he added, ‘in order to prepare them for greater employment’.
Al Humaidan also spoke of ZHO’s intention to build more private sector collaboration, as businesses across industries are urged to invest in and hire ambitious individuals. He also praised the contribution that Fresh on Table was making to local farming and sustainability, in helping the UAE achieve food security, and in lowering carbon emissions by bringing production and consumption together.
