87 Centers in Dubai to Address Residency Violations
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai has today communicated that it is ready to enforce the grace period for the correction of residency violations as envisaged by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security.
Effective Sunday, September 1, 2024, this two-month initiative that seeks to commence on the above date will be aimed at enhancing the living standards of the residents and guests. Through the adoption of several projects within the community and changes in the urban environment, the goal of this project will be to further improve the quality of life of the population in the country and enhance their satisfaction and activity levels.
Brigadier General Mohamed Ahmed Al-Merri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai stated that the direction on the practical fulfillment of this project has already been taken by the Department which also fully supports the humanitarian values of the UAE. Furthermore, Brigadier General Mohamed Ahmed Al-Merri was most pleased to reiterate Dubai’s unwavering commitment and the rule of law, tolerance and compassion as well as respect for the law.
Major General Salah Al-Qamzi, Assistant Director General for the Violations and Foreigners Sector in Dubai, further said that a revision with time will probably be carried out at 86 sites referred to as ‘Aamer’ across Dubai as well as at a particular violations resolution centre at Al-Aweer.
The Aamer centers will provide all services for those who need to change their current residency status and leave the UAE for those who are already biometrically treated holders of the UAE ID cards. In turn, the Al-Aweer center will be the designated center for the registration of fingerprints in the city and issue exit clearances for persons intending to depart from the country.
Major General Al-Qamzi assured that the teams will do the work in a very sane manner, professionally completing the procedures, and that other aspects such as the number of facilities and services needed will be present in order to assist clients within this time frame.
He further commended people with an intention of using the grace period to obtain adequate guidance from official sources and to check for accurate information about such contact at the Aamer contact center, the number of which is 8005111 and is available round the clock for any questions.
