40% Off Hotels: UAE Staycations vs. Abroad
Numerous individuals in the UAE are choosing to have staycations rather than vacations, utilizing the appealing offers provided by hospitality companies.
Syrian expatriate Aiham Joratli is a resident who likes to go on staycations every fortnight.
Joratli mentioned that he has already had a couple of staycations this summer and intends to have a few more before his kids go back to school. Every couple of weeks, my spouse and I enjoy taking staycations to mix things up and have a change of scenery. We have resided in various hotels in the UAE and occasionally visit a select few hotels that we particularly enjoy, on multiple occasions.
Nevertheless, Joratli did accompany his family to London a few months back, after making advanced bookings for both tickets and accommodations.
"This approach enables me to get the most competitive prices as we are a sizable family of five." We made specific plans for a couple of staycations during the summer. The expat working in an automotive company mentioned that international summer travel typically has prices that are doubled or tripled.
Holiday allowance that is about to expire
Likewise, Umm e Aiman, a resident of Sharjah, and her family opted for a staycation due to her husband's office holiday allocation nearing expiration.
"We chose to go to Lapita, Dubai Parks and Resorts due to their fantastic summer deals," she mentioned. We spent two nights there, and our kids had a wonderful time at the water park. We were all pleased by the splashes and were happily surprised to see numerous other families enjoying a staycation there.
At first, my spouse and I intended to visit Turkey, but the cost of tickets was too high. Moreover, staying in a hotel for a week was rather expensive. Due to our big family of six people, we chose to have a stay-at-home vacation instead. Added Aiman, "The kids enjoyed themselves, and we had a great family bonding experience."
Trend that has become popular in recent years
At the same time, professionals in the hotel sector have observed that certain UAE locals are more frequently choosing staycations instead of conventional vacations.
Ferghal Purcell, who is the General Manager of Queen Elizabeth 2 Hotel, stated that the trend has become increasingly evident in recent years and is still on the rise.
There are multiple factors that contribute to this trend. To start with, the convenience and shorter travel time of staycations are attractive to numerous locals who enjoy a brief escape without the complications of going abroad. Purcell stated that the UAE has numerous top-tier hotels and resorts with great amenities, eliminating the need for locals to go overseas for relaxation.
He described how residents are increasingly attracted to properties that provide special experiences and top-notch amenities.
Places near shopping centers
Tourism professionals emphasized that staycationers consist of a group of UAE residents who cannot go overseas because of expenses, lack of time off, or a choice to not travel.
These people tend to opt for lodging options close to shopping centers in order to maximize their visit.
Vinayak Mahtani, CEO of bnbme Holiday Homes, mentioned that lots of people bring their family to Dubai in the summer since prices are a quarter of what they are during the winter and peak season.
Mahtani stated that a benefit is how easy it is to make restaurant bookings and the malls are not too busy.
