11,600 UAE flags form portraits of founding fathers in Dubai
The Flag Garden located at the Jumeirah Beach in Umm Suqeim 2 will stay open to the public until January 10 and 2025.
Over 11,600 flags were used in an aerial commentary of the UAE’s Founding Fathers, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum as a new landmark on the occasion of Flag Day on Sunday.
The eleventh banner edition of the Flag Garden at the Jumeirah Beach, Umm Suqeim 2 in Dubai is sponsored and organized by Brand Dubai, which is the creative platform of the Government of Dubai Media Office.
As people can see 75 meters long and 104 meters high, the Garden will be available for residents and tourists up to January 10, 2025.
According to Shaima Al Suwaidi, the Director of Brand Dubai, garden design and its elements are powered by the emotional connection of the peoples of the UAE toward their nation. She continued adding that the Flag Garden is emblematic of the bond the Emiratis share and a sentiment they feel during such celebrations.
“Flag Garden of this year pays tribute to two legendary figures who made history in the development of the UAE country more than 50 years ago. The Garden has the slogan; it has the spirit of Zayed and Rashid in it, which is to honour the Founding Fathers,” said Al Suwaidi.
The flag garden of the previous year was dedicated to the leadership of Dubais vision for the development of the city in several directions.
Under the same circumstances, the canvas depicted the portraits of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince , the Deputy Prime Minister of UAE, Minister of Defence of UAE and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance and First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai Chairman of Dubai Media Council.
On its part, Brand Dubai’s Zayed and Rashid Initiative aims to commemorate significant national days events in UAE while at once showcase how active the emirate’s events of Flag Day and the 2nd of December 53rd Eid Al Etihad festivities are among the people of the UAE.
