Dubai Gold Prices Drop Slightly Amid Global Inflation Worries

Global Tensions Impact the Market

Gold prices took a slight hit in Dubai today. The ongoing Middle East conflict is causing fresh worries about energy supplies. Experts believe this situation could keep global inflation high. It also makes future interest rate increases much more likely.

The precious metal traded close to $4,160 an ounce recently. It closed the previous session down by half a percent. Meanwhile, Brent crude oil sat near $106 a barrel.

Gold has lost roughly 20% of its value since late February. The current conflict pushed global inflation higher. This forced central banks around the world to tighten their financial policies. Rising borrowing costs usually hurt gold because the metal pays no interest.

UAE Retail Rates Cool Down

Here in the UAE, buyers are seeing a slight cooling in prices. Retailers are trading 24-karat gold at Dh502.75 today. This is slightly lower than yesterday's opening price of Dh505. You can buy 22-karat gold for Dh465.50. The 18-karat gold currently trades at Dh382.50.

Budget-conscious shoppers have a reason to smile. The lightweight, everyday 14-karat gold has finally fallen below the Dh300 mark. It is trading at a very affordable Dh298.25 this Tuesday.

Investors Watch for US Data

Traders are now waiting for the latest US inflation data. This information will hint at what the Federal Reserve might do next. Experts say long-term investors are still buying gold through ETFs. This shows they are focusing on long-term financial stability instead of immediate market bumps.
