During the National Day holiday, airfare prices have risen drastically for visa-free destinations like Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, with round-trip tickets costing over Dh2,800. However, there are alternative visa-free destinations with cheaper travel options for UAE residents.

Bharath Aidasani, managing partner at Pluto Travels, mentioned that there is always a high demand for travel during the National Day holiday from November 30 to December 3. Aidasani mentioned that this year, the sudden increase in prices to popular destinations from the UAE has taken residents by surprise, despite their usual advanced planning for the last long weekend of the year.

Nevertheless, executives in the travel sector informed Khaleej Times that residents of the UAE from various nationalities can visit countries such as Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Seychelles, and Zanzibar without a visa, where ticket costs are currently cheaper.

Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan have consistently been sought after. Pavan Poojary, a consultant at Luxury Travel, mentioned that residents also favor destinations such as Uzbekistan, Seychelles, Zanzibar, and Kazakhstan, and so far, the airfares have not gone up.

Poojary stated that these countries offering visa-on-arrival are ideal destinations for many nationalities living in the UAE during the National Day holiday.

Seaside vacation spots

Aidasani mentioned that Seychelles and the Maldives are popular options for UAE residents seeking a beach vacation. Both places provide unspoiled shorelines, transparent waters, and a calm atmosphere ideal for unwinding. Aidasani emphasized the importance of booking seats early due to the high demand during the long weekend.

Destinations situated in the mountains

For those looking for excitement and stunning mountain views, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan have incredible choices for exploration. The duration of the journey to these countries is under four hours. Geof Travel CEO Geoffrey Salatan said that because of a short amount of vacation days, tourists prefer not to spend a lot of time traveling.

These places are famous for their challenging landscapes, impressive mountains, and exceptional cultural opportunities. Salatan mentioned that the attractive choices for UAE residents are the cool weather and diverse activities at these destinations.

Stunning scenery

Industry executives state that Zanzibar is becoming increasingly popular among UAE residents. Zanzibar provides some of the most beautiful scenery on the planet. Poojary mentioned that a lot of UAE residents favor a unique experience.
Industry leaders reported that they are currently seeing a high volume of inquiries from UAE residents as they confirm their holiday arrangements.

Aidasani mentioned that inquiries for these destinations have begun, and there is a consistent rise in demand. "We recommend travellers to book their tickets soon to avoid paying extremely high prices, as the fares are anticipated to increase closer to the holiday."
