UAE: Exchanging Plastic Bottles for Bus Rides
Abu Dhabi's new project offers a fun way to recycle! You can get free bus rides by just recycling plastic bottles. The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) and Tadweer started this plan. It's all about being green and giving back to the community.
So, how can you participate and help? What's The Process?
It's really simple! Recycle your plastic bottles in certain reverse vending machines (RVMs) located in Abu Dhabi, and you'll get points. Collect enough points and you can exchange them for bus rides.
Any size bottle can be used, and your points are automatically saved. Just use the "Darbi" app to check your points and trade them in when you have enough.
Once there, just transform them into bus rides--It's that easy!
Where Are These Machines?
Find these RVMs around the city - in malls, bus stations, and parks. Chances are high you'll spot one while you're out and about.
How It Helps the Earth?
The idea behind this plan is part of Abu Dhabi's move to decrease plastic and encourage sustainable lifestyles. Giving incentives for recycling and offering free bus rides help lessen waste and decrease the city's total carbon output. It benefits both you and nature.
How can you join without any trouble?
Get the "Darbi" app on your phone, sign up, and locate the closest RVM to start recycling. The app keeps a record of your points and notifies you when you have enough points for a bus ride.
With this plan, it's not just about getting bus rides for free, but also about helping make Abu Dhabi cleaner, one recycled bottle at once!
