England celebrate after World Cup final win over New Zealand

The host nation snatched victory from the jaws of defeat after requiring 15 from their final four balls. Ben Stokes’ heroic 84 not out from 98 balls saw England tie New Zealand on 241 apiece after the regulation 50-overs to extend an incredible game further.

Requiring two runs from the final ball of the day to secure victory, New Zealand could only get one as Buttler ran out Guptill to ensure that England won on the narrowest of margins having hit more boundaries over the course of the game.
