UAE first electric bike to be launched in July

The United Arab Emirates has launched its first electric bike, which can travel up to 200 kilometers on a fully charged battery.
At the Make it in the Emirates Exhibition in Abu Dhabi on Monday, EDaddy electric mobility company unveiled the X7 bike, which is named after the seven Emirates. The design is inspired by the UAE’s national bird, the falcon.
EDaddy’s co-founder and COO Yasmeen Jawaharali stated that the cost of the bike would be between dh12,000 and Dh15,000. The bike will have a top speed of 180km and will be available in sub-versions.
Jawaharali noted that the bike will be available to individuals and delivery companies across the nation by July.
“We are in the process of approvals. This is the first ever soft launch of the product and we will have it available by July. We have two manufacturing facilities already built in the National Industrial Park and Dubai Industrial City. It is in the testing phase and we hope to get operational in two months,” she said.
“We are also expanding into Abu Dhabi and looking at Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (Kezad),” she added. The new company has gained $ 15 million in investment which will likely increase with the expansion across the UAE.
On average, the informant said that delivery riders travel approximately 200km a day.
"We will also launch battery-swapping charging stations in the UAE to increase efficiency for riders. For last-mile and quick commerce delivery solutions, every second counts as they are always in competition to provide the fastest service."
As she said in the interview, "To streamline the process for both the rider and the end customer, we'll improve the system by replacing depleted batteries for faster swap-out delivery, which can be done in two minutes, with fully charged batteries. To start, we're operating with a four-kilometre radius."
The company also created Thunderbolt X Next Gen fleet infrastructure platform which is an all encompassing platform analyzing directly from the battery cell in real-time data and analytics.
"The platform tracks driver actions while an inbuilt camera monitors the blind spot. This is the first of its kind for the two-wheeler. This has been designed around the concept of accidents and safety for riders," she said.
Alongside this, the company intends to produce three-wheelers for Africa, local and other markets in the UAE.
“From our research, three-wheelers are a very big market in Africa and other regions across the globe. Even in India, it is the second largest market. So we thought of manufcturing for the UAE and also for the world in the Emirates,” she said with a smile.
