Eight Nations join Trump's Gaza board

Eight countries — the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan and Qatar — have been invited to join US President Donald Trump’s “Board of Peace” for Gaza and have accepted the invitation, their foreign ministers announced Wednesday in a statement.

The ministers also said that each state will "ratify the documents of accession" in line with their respective legal procedures, and other required actions, including Egypt, Pakistan and UAE which already declared its acceptance.

The two ministers reiterated their support of the U.S.-initiated peace efforts and expressed readiness to back implementation of the peace-council’s mandate as a transitional mechanism, outlined in the comprehensive framework for ending conflict in Gaza according to a constructive proposal adopted by UNSC Resolution No. 2803

The Ministers reaffirmed their countries’ support for the peace efforts that Trump leads, and renewed their countries’ readiness to back the execution of the mission of Peace Board as an interim administration in line with the Comprehensive Plan for Ending Conflict in Gaza which has been approved by United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803.

It is in this context that the Security Council should work to achieve a sustainable ceasefire, assist in rebuilding Gaza and promote a just and lasting peace rooted in the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and statehood, as defined by international law, thus ensuring regional security and stability for all nations and people.
