Dubai visa: Residents can renew permit within minutes as authority launches new platform
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) has introduced an AI-powered digital platform that enables residents to renew their visas with ease.
Salama enables residents to finish visa renewal processes within minutes. Visa updates are available for immediate download directly from the platform which removes the need for paperwork and lengthy waiting periods.
After the user successfully logs in the AI system identifies their details and provides their dependent's visa status along with an expiration countdown.
When selecting the renewal duration the applicant requests the system to process their application instantly. The platform enables users to renew family member residency visas through quick and straightforward clicks.
The duration of the renewal process previously ranged from one to three hours based on how complete the documents were. According to Ghaleb Abdullah Mohammed Hassan Al-Majid from the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Department the process now takes only one to two minutes if all documents are correctly provided.
The service for visa renewals is presently limited to residents. Residents will first receive renewal and cancellation services with future plans to extend functionality to visitors and tourists along with additional GDRFA services.
Al-Majid announced the eventual availability of the service for businesses through the adoption of smart channel technology and the GDRFA DXP application in upcoming stages. Our organization continually adapts to maintain alignment with AI progressions and technological development.
