Sharjah Education Academy opens Fall 2026 admissions offering 8 programmes for teachers

With that in mind, and spirits high after marks were released from O/A levels/ GSCEs, Shahid Malik, PhD., would like to remind each one of you who are seeking to take your career higher with postgraduate qualifications — educators across the UAE looking for elevating their portfolios and steps into leadership roles will be able to join a fresh new Fall 2026 semester at Sharjah Education Academy (SEA).

Application is open from 30 March to 30 April and interested candidates can apply via the Academy's official website.

The intake includes both academic and professional programmes designed to enhance the skills of educators and support their progression in schools and educational institutions.

The Academy announced eight academic programmes accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in addition to three specialised Early Childhood Education certification programmes accredited by the National Qualifications Center (NQC).

All programmes are offered in both Arabic and English, catering to the UAE's diverse education sector and increasing demand for bilingual, high-calibre teaching professionals.

Global collaborations shape programmes

One flagship offering is the Postgraduate Diploma in Education, designed in partnership with the University of Helsinki in Finland. The program is designed to refine teachers’ scientific and creative thinking, and promote research-based teaching practices and classroom innovation.

The Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Leadership was created, in collaboration with the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto, specifically for experienced teachers on a path toward leadership roles. It prepares participants by providing them with the tools to lead school improvement efforts and implement quality development policy at scale in education systems.

SEA, for its part, is also partnering with two master’s degree programs — the Master of Education in Teacher Leadership and the Master of Education in Educational Leadership — both of which are offered in Arabic and English. These programmes allow educators to further their knowledge and take on wider roles within schools, building from the postgraduate diplomas.

The second offering, the Master of Education in Teacher Leadership developed with University of Helsinki, is designed for those who would like to improve their teaching practice as a teacher leader. The Master of Education in Educational Leadership, designed with the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto, prepares school leaders to lead large-scale educational improvement efforts and implement progressive research findings into current practice.

Early childhood education in focus

In line with its overarching focus on supporting foundational literacy learning, the Academy is also launching specialisation-focused Early Childhood Education certification pathways for three cohorts: leaders, teachers and teacher assistants.

In collaboration with the University of Helsinki these research-based programmes draw on international best practice to provide teachers with both theoretical grounding and practical skills. The aim is to promote the cultivation of high-quality early learning atmospheres and help children grow during pivotal early years.

All programs combine in-person classes, online instruction with self-paced study and hands-on application in local education settings. [Professor of Education], This type of plan enables practicing educators to advance their academic endeavors while remaining in concert with global trends in pedagogy and educational leaders.
