RTA honours Dubai’s top 200 delivery riders with award
The Performance of 200 Delivery Riders in Dubai Recognized by RTA Over Traffic Compliance Last Jan. 29, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in the Emirate praised and recognized some 200 delivery riders for their efforts as well as their following of traffic rules.
The ceremony, which took place at the Dubai Police Officers Club, witnessed the honour of winners for the second edition of the Delivery Sector Excellence Award - first-of-its-kind in region to acknowledge delivery riders.
The award targets to upgrade the level of quality and excellence within service delivery, promote the compliance of delivery companies and drivers to traffic rules and regulations accompanying with occupational safety conditions.
Selection criterion of winning riders is neat riding which is clear from complaint, traffic violations and accidents along with evaluation of performance.
This year’s awardees were made up of 50 riders in Gold, 60 for Silver and another 90 for Bronze, with the cash rewards getting higher as level of excellence earned was raised.
Aside from the best delivery rider award, there are three other categories: Best partner, Best delivery company via smart platforms and app and Best delivery company.
The winners of the Best Delivery Company category are:
1. ELITE Zone Delivery Services
2. ZONE Delivery Services
3. ZAJEL Logistics Services
And the winners of the Best Delivery Company via Platforms and Smart Applications category are:
1. DB L.L.C – Delivery Hero (Talabat)
2. CAREEM Delivery Services
3. Motoboy Delivery Services
Winners in these categories have been selected according to specific conditions, notably commitment with safety, quality, health and environmental standards and RTA requirements; complying with international best practices and using modern technologies; continuous training & qualification as well as contributed to customer happiness.
The Best Partner Award was claimed by Majid Al Futtaim Group, in honour of its efforts towards fulfilling RTA’s strategic goals to make life better and leadership role in supporting delivery riders. “This included having water dispensers installed at a number of rider rest areas operated by RTA, as well updating and maintaining those fixtures on an ongoing basis to ensure quality,” RTA said.
“The delivery sector lies in the heart of Dubai’s commercial and logistics transport system, needing sophisticated governance to ensure service efficiency, protect lives, and enhance quality of life,” he commented on the event.
Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, said: “Traffic safety is one of the strategic pillars of Dubai Police and among its policing priorities. It is in line with the objectives of Dubai Road Safety Strategy that aims to bring down traffic accidents, loss of life and injuries besides making roads safer in the emirate.
