Dubai parking fees may rise pending RTA approval

Dubai's biggest provider of paid public parking facilities and services, Parkin, said on Wednesday it had filed a request with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) earlier this month to make changes to the parking tariff and seasonal card structure.

If approved, this will bump up the weighted-average tariff for public parking.

“On 10 February 2026, the company submitted a formal application to the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), seeking several amendments to the weighted average public parking tariff, if approved, would increase.

These include proposals to amend seasonal card structures and tariffs to eliminate existing price arbitrage and better integrate with the variable pricing introduced early in the year,” it said in a signed press statement which was filed to the Dubai Financial Market, where it is listed.

“The proposals would also maintain the existing discount framework to provide long term fairness for customers, Parkin and the RTA,” it said.

The average hourly rate for paid parking in Dubai jumped 51 per cent in the third quarter of 2025 versus the same period last year. The average weighted hourly rate increased to Dh3. 03 an hour in July–September 2025 — up from Dh2. 04:01, which comes after a new variable parking tariff was introduced in April.

Parkin revealed new variable parking tariffs across Dubai in April 2025.

“The RTA has acknowledged receipt of our proposal and will conduct a thorough review before seeking guidance and final approval from the Executive Council of Dubai”, Parkin said on Wednesday.

Parkin, which shared its outlook for 2026, expects to add between about 5,500 and 7,500 spaces to the public parking portfolio this year. The public parking segment is forecast to generate revenue of between Dh560 million and Dh610 million, an increase from Dh524. 5 million in 2025.

Net profit stood at Dh625. 5 million in 2025, an increase of 48 percent.
