Abu Dhabi reminds of ban on fishing, trading of two species from April 1 to 30

The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority has urged members of the public to abide by a prohibition on the fishing and trading that were in effect for a number of species during their mating period. The ban was announced in 2024.

The fishing and marketing of Golden Trevally (Zuraidi) and Painted Sweetlips (Farsh) is prohibited from 1 April to 30April for the years 2024–2026 as per the Ministerial Resolution No. (50) of 2024.

According to the resolution, it is part of the Ministry's efforts to regulate commercial fishing to maintain and sustainability of fish stocks in UAE waters as a framework for enhancing food security in the country.

The Ministry's decision that governed the fishing and trading of Goldlined seabream and King soldier bream, will no longer be effective due to the decree Adafsa added.
