Abu Dhabi Police arrest 109 individuals for filming, posting misleading videos
Abu Dhabi Police statement included a list of all 109 individuals arrested against violating the above-mentioned provisions, including UAE nationals and expatriates:
“A total number of (109) people from different nationalities had been Referring to the detection of some people filming sites and events during the current developments with misleading information on social media channels causing confusion among community members.
Steps have been taken against those involved, including legal and administrative measures, as part of efforts to monitor social media violations.
Abu Dhabi Police warned that the publication of such behaviour is a violation to laws and regulations, calling for confirming information and refraining from publishing or re-publishing unverified content or materials not issued by official sources due to their negative impact on public safety and security operations.
The public is asked to verify information only through official sources and refrain from filming or disseminating images of site event in order to protect the integrity of security procedures and address the general interest.
