UAE: How to refund movie tickets, reschedule bookings
Ever have an emergency job offer on the back end when you bought tickets to a ticketed movie? The situation is not uncommon. But, there is an answer for movie buffs in UAE.
The UAE has four big cinemas — Reel Cinemas, VOX, Roxy and Novo — which show different films all over the country. These movie theatres refund tickets in cash and some give you back in the form of credits and gift cards.
So here is how you can cancel, refund or change your reservation for movies at a cinema in any city in the country.
Reel Cinemas
For the movie enthusiasts in Dubai you can get the tickets at Reel Cinemas which is present in three locations across the emirate — Dubai Mall, Dubai Marina Mall and The Springs Souk.
How to switch tickets/times?

Customers can cancel tickets right there in the cineplex where the tickets were booked. This can be done only if there’s a spot/time that the customer would like to modify the booking for.

Box office cancellation must be made 2 hours in advance of the original film reservation. You can't make amendments after the movie that you booked started playing.

No refund on all ticket and booking fees. Please note that only the tickets that are bought without bank promo can be rescheduled.
Can movie tickets be refunded?
If the movie tickets have to be canceled and you want to get a refund then Reel Cinemas has made that available for the movie lovers. The theater gives you a Reel Cinema gift voucher back for the tickets. It does not need a bank proposal to do this. They’ll also deduct Dh5 from the refund.
VOX
Vox cinemas are showing movies for people in the UAE at different venues.
Those are Abu Dhabi Mall, Al Hamara Mall in Ras Al Khaimah, Al Jimi Mall, Burjuman, City Centre Ajman, City Centre Al Zahia, City Centre Deira, City Centre Fujairah, City Centre Mirdif, City Centre Sharjah, City Centre Shindagha, Dubai Festival City Mall, Galleria Mall Dubai-Moonlight, Kempinski Hotel at MOE, MEGAPLEX(Cineplex Grand Hyatt), Mall of the Emirates, Mercato, Nakheel Mall, Nation Towers, Reem Mall, The Galleria Al Maryah Island, Wafi Mall at Wafi City and Yas Mall.
Ticket exchange or timing change?

Customers who want to VOX the ticket times they can get it done by calling their call centre at least 30 minutes before the appointment.

Recall that tickets purchased via bank offer cannot be refunded or transferred.

If there are any promotions/discounts being offered at VOX, then customer can not rebook their tickets.

No exchanges on online ticket purchases, both on the website and in the VOX app.
Can movie tickets be refunded?

VOX cinemas don’t refund cash, they only refund in VOX credit. 1 VOX credit is 1 dirham.

You can redeem the VOX credit towards any future purchase, and it is not redeemable for cash.
The following bookings cannot be cancelled or changed:

If the movie starts in under 30 minutes.

Ticket collected in the kiosk or scanner.

If the tickets were bought on bank or telecom offer discounts.

You cannot redeem or reissue your tickets in a kiosk.

Tickets that include F&B purchases and which have already been activated cannot be cancelled or changed.
Eligibility

Only if the booking was made using registered accounts will refund be given.

Credit is good for 90 days from the deposit date. If the credit runs out within 3 months, it expires automatically.

Online use only for VOX credit.
Novo
The movies are presented in Novo Cinemas which are present in different locations in UAE. They are: Sahara Centre, Mega Mall, Manar Mall, BAS Mall, Buhairah Centre and Dragon Mart.
How to exchange tickets or adjust timings?
Tickets that have been booked are subject to change if the seat becomes unavailable. Only at the box office of the cineplex that purchased the tickets.
Please remember that the customers have to change this at the box office 2 hours prior to the movie showtime. After the film is playing, you can't do anything about it.
Can movie tickets be refunded?
Tickets are non-refundable with Novo in no way. ‘There is no return and no refund on all purchased tickets, even if you have not picked up your tickets or come to the movie,’ the cinema’s website states.
Roxy
Roxy Cinemas theatres in Dubai at Dubai Hills, Al Khawaneej, City Walk, The Beach, Boxpark, Galleria Mall Barsha.
Ticket exchange or change timings how?
Roxy is not responsible for refunds after the booking has been confirmed and paid for. "No cancellations and no refunds will be granted under any circumstance.
Even when the customers fail to attend the movie or pick up their tickets, there is no remuneration of those tickets because they are non-refundable and non-cancellable.
Can movie tickets be refunded?

Tickets are refunded in the cineplex’s box office where the purchase of the tickets was made. Depending on the seats available.

Correction must be made to the box office 2 hours prior to the original movie time. After playing the original movie you can not change anything.
