Mohamed Othman qualifies for Paris Paralympics 100m final
Mohamed Othman's remarkable performance at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games helped to maintain the UAE's chances of winning a medal. Racing in the 100m wheelchair event, Othman's speed and determination secured him a place in the eagerly awaited final.
Othman came in fourth place in the heats, guaranteeing his spot in the 100m wheelchair race final, which is very competitive, at the Paris Paralympic Games. His display of ability and perseverance won him the opportunity to vie for a medal. The ultimate game will take place on Monday at the famous Stade de France, as Othman seeks to create a historic moment and bring honor to the UAE.
On Friday, Ahmed Al Bedwawi from the UAE placed 22nd in the 1,000m time trial cycling track qualification for the "C5" category at the Paris Paralympics. He finished the race in 1 hour, 13 minutes, and 1 second, demonstrating his dedication and perseverance, but it wasn't sufficient to progress to the next stage of the competition.
Ayesha Al Shamsi achieved 14th position in the mixed 10m air pistol standing qualification for the SH2 category, scoring 630.1 points, and her teammate, Ayesha Al Muhairi, placed 22nd with 626.7 points in the identical contest.
During the club throw finals in the F32 category, Noura Al Ketbi came in eighth place with a distance of 20.69 meters, while Dhekra Al Kaabi finished in ninth place with a throw of 20.29 meters.
During the shooting events on Saturday, Abdullah Sultan Al Aryani placed ninth in the 10m air rifle standing qualification round, achieving a score of 618.3 points, with the top eight shooters progressing to the finals.
Obaid Al Dahmani finished in 13th place with a total of 613.9 points, competing against 17 other participants. Although he put in a lot of effort, he didn't make it into the top rankings, but it did showcase his commitment and effort.
