Monday, October 28


Have a ghoul time
 

Motiongate Dubai which is the largest Hollywood-themed park in the region celebrates Halloween until October 31 with a wide range of activities. Parents can put their children in funny costumes so that the whole family can enjoy spooky meet and greets, storytellings, and live acts. Go to Smurfs Village where children can join Halloween dance parties and participate in storytime sessions with Brainy Smurf. Head to Smackula Mania for a wicked live show featuring Drac, Mavis, and Johhny followed by a candy grab. At Studio Central perform the famous Hollywood Spooky Stars and Scarecrow Groove with witches and scarecrows for some chuckles. For the dauntless, Fright Nights offers the SAW Maze, The Curse of the Moon Maze, The Fright Night Parade, The Vampire Circus and al that is spine chilling this Halloween.


King of Pop Art
 

Are you a fan of the ‘Chairman of the American Pop’ as Andy Warhol has been called? Please visit the Andy Warhol: The Glam Factory exhibition at The Foundry, but only until October 30. Warhol is the ‘author’ of the now already well-known paintings of Campbell Soup Cans and the portrait with the well recognizable Marilyn Monroe. The exhibition tickets are Dhs80 for the week.

Teleport to the Riviera
 

Open from 8am until 7pm daily. Jumeirah Islands Clubhouse features a riviera-style, open air, inviting space. The temperature controlled pool and structures such as sunbeds and cabanas are available for guests to use, all ordering food and drinks from the Isola Ristorante menu. Entry fees are 50 dirhams during weekday and 100 dirhams during weekends which is fully redeemable as food. Tuesdays are the days women can visit the pool and have a main and two drinks from the specialties for 100 dirhams.

New kid on the block

For food lovers and poring over the food, this time, there’s a new Indo-Asian-style-gastropub in the region! 59 Street Kitchen and Bar is co-owned by eminent food blogger Bosco Pereira from Dubai and his brother Chef Dominic. The menu offers a nice blend of comfort food and food that encourages some to step outside of their comfort zones. Indian customers will be in for a treat even as they prepare for Mumbai staples like egg burji and keema pav since they will also get the chance to indulge in Singaporean chili crab and Nasi goreng while dining. Some dishes, in fact, are part of Pereira’s family recipes.

The big one-oh-one

Asil marks the 101st year of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye. Dishes, music, and ambience are said to come from deeper sources in the culture than surface level. For Dhs350 per person, the Turkish experience extends from the classic mezze to grilled hand-chopped lamb, Adaba kebabs, and Turkish kunefe for the mains in the best Turkish cuisine there is. Having motives from their roots of Argentina and Brazil, both chefs have made an exciting menu available for three nights only between October 31st to November 2, 2024. With Dhs399, unlimited food and wines paired with the food will be provided. Brazilian feijoada, Argentinian rib eye dishes and of course desserts from both countries are to be enjoyed among many, as for They will be disappointed. In addition, be on time for a welcome drink and introduction and mingling with the chefs.


A thrilling night

Do you enjoy being scared? If so, book yourself a seat for The Woman in Black at Zabeel Theatre in Jumeirah Zabeel Saray. It is set to show for four nights from Wednesday October 30 up to November 2, 2024. However, children below ten years are not allowed to watch the show, and children between the ages of ten and eighteen must be accompanied by someone above twenty-one years. Ticket prices commence from Dhs200.

Candy, candy, candy…
 

Halloween marks the grand opening of the world's first Museum of Candy, in Dubai on October 31. Designed to entertain families, this new attraction will have 15 rooms dedicated to provide an interactive experience. To name a few, a cotton candy bath, a gummy bear pool, and an ice cream room with thrill and chill are all highlighted with Instagrammable moments. So, if you wish to be first in the line get your ticket right away. Prices start at Dhs109 for adults and Dhs89 for children.


Festival of Lights
 

Experience a modern twist on Indian cuisine at Armani/Amal, a stylish contemporary Indian restaurant within the Armani Hotel Dubai. Get into the festive spirit with a special menu available for only two days, October 31 and November 1. Inclusive of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisines, priced at Dhs399 a head. Dishes such as sabudana ki tikki, zaitooni macchi, tandoori boti kebab, veg masala puff will be served as a part of a three course meal.
