4 Emirati Women Added Their Artistic Touch To Donation Boxes In Dubai

Four FAB Emirati women have decided to add the spirit of Ramadan to the clothing donation boxes and encourage the public to donate! How did they do that? They added an artistic touch.

In collaboration with the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) and the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, the artists have painted donation boxes that are inspired by the local culture and traditions. Painting the boxes will make them more eye-catchy and remind the public to donate during the Holy Month.

Abeer Al Ladani, Maitha Al Suwaidi, Nawal Al Muhairi, and Shamma Al Badi are the 4 artists that put a spark to the donation boxes

They took inspiration from various things that remind them of Ramadan like wearing traditional Emirati clothing, holding the Ramadan decorations, seeing the brightly coloured building and more. Lanterns and crescent moons are also a big symbol of the Holy Month. And of course, worshippers go to mosques and visit families.

The donated clothes will benefit the ‘Clothes Bank’ initiative and will be distributed to over 350,000 people who are in need. You could find these gorgeous boxes in several areas across the city including Masjid Al Rahim in Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Grand Mosque, Humaid Al Tayer Mosque in Umm Suqeim 2, and Al Ghafoor Mosque in Downtown Dubai.
