Over 500 seizures made by Hatta Customs Centre in Dubai

Dubai: Hatta Customs Centre in Dubai disclosed to have made 538 seizures in 2022.
The centre also has completed 87,400 transactions and dealt with 78,600 cargo trucks and 587,000 vehicles previous year according to Dubai Customs.

Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, director-general of Dubai Customs, CEO of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, said “Creativity at Dubai Customs has become part of the daily work routine within our quest to develop customs procedures and techniques at the local and international levels.”

Members of Customs’ senior management assisted Musabih to view the smart systems that were put to use by the centre to identify and eliminate smuggling attempts.


The latest innovation called ‘Seyaj Buggy’ now a part of the ‘Seyaj Initiative’ facilitates better control at ports in Dubai. The buggy can pass through narrow places and capture 360 degree images and videos.

Musabih also stated the importance of Hatta Border Crossing in trade and tourism of the country and in regulating passenger traffic between Dubai and Oman and other GCC countries.
