One tirade from US President Donald Trump would have ignited the war between The United States and North Korea, according to veteran journalist Bob Woodward, pointing out that the US president declined to publish the twinkle after it alarmed Pentagon employees.

Woodward said in a CBS television interview that Trump would have published a tweet saying his country would withdraw its 28,000 people in South Korea.

Woodward pointed out that the warnings came to Trump, after North Korean sources confirmed that Pyongyang would understand this as "a sign of imminent US attack." "At that moment, there was a sense of panic at the Pentagon leadership ... my God, one geek, and we have credible information that the North Koreans will read this as an impending attack," the Huffington Post said.

The details of the full story are in The Fear: Trump in the White House, written by Bob Woodward.

In an excerpt from the book, Woodward said the gospel that was about to be published raised the terror of US Defense Secretary Jim Matisse and US Joint Chiefs of Staff General Joseph Danford.

At the time, Trump and his North Korean counterpart Kim Jong-un were exchanging accusations, threats, and insults. Trump bemoaned Kim as a "little rocket man" and boasted that he had a "bigger and stronger nuclear button" than Kim's, referring to US-owned nuclear weapons. In contrast, North Korea's leader, Trump, called the "mentally unstable."

All this came ahead of a joint summit held in Singapore earlier this year to ease tensions between the two countries and pave the way for nuclear disarmament by North Korea.

The president has tried again to undermine the credibility of Bob Woodward's presidential book, reiterating that the book is based on fabricated statements.

"Woodward's book is a farce," It is just another attack on me in a barrage of attacks targeting me, using the use of undisclosed sources - Trump said on Twitter in less than 24 hours before the book was published.
