Immediate compensation may be given to households that had been suffering from the heavy rain that whipped Ras Al Khaimah recently, in keeping with a directive from His Highness.

Hundreds of families in severa components of the emirate had been badly affected. Around a hundred and twenty of them stay in Al Fahleen area in which all homes were flooded as rainwater crammed the close by Naqb Valley, official statistics showed.

More than 1,000 incidents of damaged roads, fallen walls and rocks, landslides, and uprooted timber and poles were also stated and attended to, authorities said.

In reaction to the Ras Al Khaimah Ruler's directive, Maj-Gen Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, General Commander of the RAK Police, has fashioned a special committee to evaluate the damage.

The committee will encompass all departments concerned, added the officer, who moreover chairs the emergency, crises and disasters group of the emirate.

"The committee will visit every a part of the emirate; discover the people suffering from the rain; and refer them to the Ruler so they'll take delivery of compensation," he said.
